Check FaceTime Duration During a Call

You can check the duration of FaceTime audio and cellular phone calls in real-time on your iPhone or iPad.

    Tap the floating FaceTime card on your Home Screen and check below the contact name or phone number.

    MacBooks, iMacs, and Mac Minis also display FaceTime audio call duration in real time. Check the top-right corner of the floating FaceTime window to see how long you have been on the call.

    Unfortunately, Apple devices don’t show FaceTime video call duration in real time. Apple discontinued the call duration feature for FaceTime video in iOS 13. You can only check the duration of video FaceTime calls after you hang up.

    Check FaceTime Duration After a Call

    There are two ways to see how long a FaceTime audio or video call lasted after hanging up. You’ll find the information in the Phone or FaceTime app.

    Open the Phone app on your iPhone or iPad and go to the Recents tab. Tap the info (i) icon next to the contact or phone number to see the duration of the call. You can also check the duration of cellular voice calls using this method.

    Another way to find the duration of recent FaceTime calls is via the FaceTime app. Tap the i icon next to a contact or phone number in your FaceTime call log.

    Apple reportedly discontinued showing call duration in the FaceTime app in iOS 14, but we could check the call duration of some FaceTime calls on our test device—iPhone with iOS 16.

    If you don’t find call durations in the FaceTime app, update your iOS device and check again. Use the Phone app if the issue persists—it reports the duration of all incoming and outgoing calls.

    On Mac computers, the FaceTime app doesn’t show the duration of recent FaceTime calls. When you select the info (i) icon next to a contact or phone number, macOS displays a contact card—not the call details.
