iPhone 17 Design Leaks Stir Controversy

If true, I’m worried myself. Recently leaked images of the upcoming iPhone 17 highlight significant design changes, including the rumored ultra-light “iPhone Air” model. Notable updates feature an Action Button replacing the traditional Ring/Mute switch.

However, the major issue seems to be that the camera bump is getting even bigger (and wider)! While some folks may be excited about the new redesign, others are legitimately concerned over the pronounced camera module and its similarity to Google’s Pixel lineup.

Apple Faces Challenges in AI Development

Siri has always sucked, but at least with Apple Intelligence, we all thought things would improve. Sadly, no. Apple’s Siri team is experiencing major setbacks as persistent technical issues delay the launch of advanced AI capabilities. Also, inaccurate responses attributed to significant bugs are not helping Apple stay on top of the AI game.

    Major Software Updates Coming Soon

Apple is also gearing up for extensive redesigns of iOS 19, iPadOS 19, and macOS 16. These updates are supposed to closely mirror the visionOS interface from Apple’s Vision Pro headset. No one apparently has seen any leaks of the new look for the software yet, but stay tuned for big announcements at this year’s Worldwide Developers Conference (WWDC) in June.

Metallica Teaed Up with Apple for Immersive Concert

If you’re from Gen X or earlier and have a Vision Pro, then you’ll be happy to hear about this partnership: Metallica and Apple! They partnered to deliver a very cool-sounding virtual concert through Apple’s Vision Pro headset. The already-recorded event features 180-degree, ultra-high-resolution video, and immersive spatial audio captured during Metallica’s live performance in Mexico City. Go check it out if you can!

Apple Loses Antitrust Appeal in Germany

In Germany, Apple lost an appeal in the Federal Court, solidifying its classification as a company of “paramount cross-market significance.” The decision subjects Apple to stricter regulatory oversight, particularly affecting policies related to app tracking and data privacy.

Apple Stock Seen as ‘Lower-Risk’ AI Investment

Evercore ISI analysts have boosted Apple’s price target from $260 to $275, highlighting its supposed strategic AI initiatives and innovative custom chip designs. They emphasize Apple’s potential for stable growth and identify it as a safer AI-related investment compared to peers. I agree Apple is a very stable company, but I’m a little skeptical about it being considered a “safe” AI investment. Hopefully, by 2026, we’ll start seeing some big AI advancements in Apple products.
