One Laptop Per Child. “One learning child. One connected child. One laptop at a time.” Sounds like a good cause to me! Well OLPC has extended its Give One - Get One limited time offer till December 31st. This offer is only for US and Canada, a $400 US donation is required and OLPC gives an XO Laptop to a lucky child in a developing country and the donator gets to choose where the second XO Laptop goes, in my case it’s coming to my house.
Well it’s not OS X but it’s definatley not Windows either, it uses a graphical interface called Sugar that is based on Red Hat Fedora Linux-based Operating System and is fully open source, as a matter of fact, all the programs on the XO Laptop are open source and apparently there are tons of developers making applications for Sugar in support of the cause. This is really good for anyone who owns one.
