One of the great features of many web browsers is the “Find on Page” command. Tapping Command + F on your Mac while browsing the web will bring up a search bar. When you type a word or phrase in the search bar, Safari will automatically find that text on the current web page you are viewing. This helpful feature is now available on the iPhone and iPad in iOS 4.2.

Open Safari on your iPhone or iPad by tapping its icon on the home screen.

Safari

Navigate to a web page, either one of your bookmarks or other, such as Amazon.com.

Webpage

Tap on the search bar in the upper right-hand corner of the Safari screen. This will bring up the virtual keyboard and highlight the search bar.

Search Bar

Begin typing a word or phrase you would like to find on this page. As you type, search results will appear in a drop down window. There are two types of results, Google suggestions, which will perform a Google search on that word or phrase, and On This Page results with the number of matches found on the current web page.

Results Type

Tap on the word in the On This Page section. This will highlight and zoom in on the word located on the web page. If there is more than one result for that word, tap Next on the bottom left-hand corner of the screen to find it.

Highlighted Word

To change your search, tap on the new search bar in the lower right-hand corner of the screen. When finished, tap Done to exit search mode.
