If you would like to control your Mac from any computer in the world via your web browser, read on. In this tutorial we will be showing you how to remotely control your Mac using LogMeIn. LogMeIn is a free application that allows you to control your Mac via the web.

Downloading And Installing LogMeIn

1. To start, open a web browser of your choice and navigate to the LogMeIn webpage. Once the webpage has completely loaded, look at the middle of the page. You should see a link that says “Create an account”. Click on this link and create an account.

2. Once you have created an account, log in. The first time that you log into your account a pop-up window should appear. This pop-up window will tell you to download the LogMeIn software. Do this by clicking on the “Download” button.

3. Once you have downloaded LogmeIn your Mac will automatically open an installer window. This will guide you through the installation process.

4. Once you have installed LogMeIn, the LogMeIn application will automatically open. This application will ask you to login to your account and choose a subscription. For this tutorial, I will be choosing the free free subscription.

Note: If for any reason you would like to turn off LogMeIn, simply look at the “Apple Toolbar”. When you do this you should see a LogMeIn icon. Click on this icon. When you do this, a drop down menu will appear. From this drop down menu, click on “Switch Off LogMeIn”, this will turn LogMeIn off.

Controlling Your Mac LogMeIn From A Web Browser

1. Open a web browser of your choice and navigate to the LogMeIn webpage. Once the webpage has completely loaded, log in.

2. Once you have logged in, you will be taken to the “My Computers” page. You should see your Mac’s name under the My Computers list. Next to your Mac’s name, you should see a button that says “Remote Control”. Click on this button to control your Mac.

Note: Sadly, you cannot use LogMeIn from the iPhone/iPad’s web browser. Instead you will have to get the LogMeIn application from the App Store.
