If you have kids that use your Mac, you may want to limit what they are doing on your Mac. We will be showing you how to do that using Parental Controls, a feature built into Mac OSX. This simple tutorial does not require any additional software.
Enabling Parental Controls
1. Open System Preferences by launching it from your dock or by searching for it in Spotlight.

2. Look under the System heading. Under this heading you will see an option labeled Accounts. Click on this.

3. Look towards the lefthand side of the window. You will see a sidebar that contains all of the accounts on your Mac. Select the account that you would like to put parental controls on.

4. Look towards the center of the screen. You will see an option labeled Enable Parental Controls. Select it. Now, look to the righthand side of the Enable Parental Controls option. You will see a button labeled Open Parental Controls. Click on this. You will now be taken to a page where you can configure parental controls to your liking.
