Finder is a great way to look through all of your Mac’s files. But if you do a lot of work in Finder, and need to quickly open programs or folders, read on. In this tutorial we will be showing you how to customize your Finder toolbar to include applications and folders.

Customizing The Finder Toolbar

1. Open a new Finder window. You can do this by clicking on the Finder icon that is located on the lefthand side of the dock.

2. Once the window has opened, search for a file, program or folder that you would like to place in the dock.

3. Once you have found a file, folder or application, click on it. This will highlight the file. Now, simply drag this file to the Finder Toolbar.

Note: If you would like to remove this file from your toolbar, simply right click on the icon. When you do this, a drop down menu will appear. From this menu, click on “Remove Item”.
