If you often use voice features on your Mac, but don’t like the default voice, read on! In this tutorial we will be showing you how to change the default voice on your Mac. This tutorial requires no additional software.

Changing Your Mac’s Default Voice

1. To start, open “System Preferences” by launching it from your dock or by searching for it in Spotlight.

2. Once System Preferences has completely launched, look towards towards the bottom of the window. You should see an option labeled “Speech”, click on this.

3. Now that you are in the Speech preferences window, make sure that you are in the “Text to Speech”tab. Look at the top of the window, you will notice an option that labeled “System Voice”. From here you can change your Mac’s default voice.
