If you would like to use Wikipedia to learn more about your music, read on. In this tutorial we will be showing you how to integrate Wikipedia search into into iTunes. Before we start, download the “Search Wikipedia v2.2″ AppleScript from the developers website.

Installing The “Search Wikipedia” Script

1. Right click on the Finder icon in your dock and click on “Go To Folder…”. A popup window will now appear.

2. Now, copy and paste this into the popup window: /Library/iTunes .

3. Make a Folder labeled “Scripts” in the iTunes folder.

4. Now, open the “Search Wikipedia v2.2.dmg” file that you downloaded earlier. In this DMG you will find two files. Drag-and-drop these files into the Scripts folder we created earlier.

Searching Wikipedia In iTunes

1. Open iTunes by launching it from your dock or by searching for it in Spotlight.

2. Select a song that you would like to search for in Wikipedia. Now, look towards the righthand side of the Apple Toolbar, you will see an AppleScript button. Click on this. When you do this a drop down menu will appear. From this menu click on “Search Wikipedia”. The Wikipedia page with the song you selected will now be opened in your default web browser.
