If you would like to remotely control your computer’s iTunes library from your iPhone, read on. In this tutorial we will be showing you how to setup the Remote application on your iPhone/iPod Touch/iPad. Before we start, download the Remote application from the App Store.

Setting Up The Remote App

1. Make sure you have downloaded the Remote application and that you are connected to your Wi-Fi network. Now open the Remote app on your device.

2. When you are in the Remote app, look towards the top of the screen. You will notice an option labeled “Add an iTunes Library”.

3. You will now see a code on your device’s screen. This code will allow you to add your device as a remote in iTunes.

4. Now, open iTunes on your Mac. You can do this by launching it from your dock or by searching for it in Spotlight

5. Look under “Devices”in the Apple toolbar. You should see your device’s name with the Remote icon next to it. Click on it.

6. iTunes will now ask you to type in the code that is on your device’s screen. Do this now. Once you have typed in the code, your device will now be able to control your Mac’s iTunes library via the Remote app.
