One of the strengths of the iOS platform is its media playback and quality. Found on all iPads, iPhones and iPod Touches, the “iPod” app now holds all the music and video synced to your device. Unfortunately, many of the settings for music and video playback are not directly accessible in the iPod app. To adjust these settings, you will have to look in the Settings app on your iOS device.
Open the Settings app by tapping the icon from your device homescreen.

Tap on the iPod heading, either in the left hand column on iPad or scroll down to it on the iPhone/iPod Touch.

Here you can change the various settings for music playback. When Sound Check is turned on, your device will make sure all tracks are played at an equal volume, this way no song is drastically louder than another. Turning Lyrics and Podcast Info on will show you either words to a song or Podcast description when you tap the screen in the iPod app. To adjust the overall EQ setting, tap EQ.

Here you will find a list of presets that can be applied to all music and podcasts. Just tap on a preset to save your preference.

The last setting under the iPod heading is Volume Limit. Here you can lock a maximum volume for the iPod app.
