If you are using a newer Mac, most likely you have a built in Wi-Fi card, Apple calls this the “Airport”. The Airport card is great for connecting to existing wireless networks, but it can also make its own wireless network. In this tutorial we will show you how to use your Mac with a built in Airport card as a router. Before we start, make sure you have an internet connection and an ethernet cable.

Hooking Up Your Mac To A Wired Connection

1. Make sure you have an ethernet cable running from your modem. You will be plugging the other end of the ethernet cable into the ethernet port on your Mac. Make sure that your ethernet cable is completely plugged in on both ends.
