From the iMacs that used to be available in different colors to the iMacs with the desk lamp pedestal, Apple has created several unique and innovative products over the years. Of course, Apple is also a company that is constantly releasing new product updates also.
Minor spec upgrades for products are often released a few times a year, but if you are a Apple product guru that likes to stay up to date with the latest technology, even you know that deciding when to purchase a new Mac can be difficult to judge. One app that keeps track of all products that Apple has ever released can help you decide when to buy a new Mac, and also view the history of Apple’s product lineup.
The app is called Mactracker, and like most Apple software, it is available in the AppStore. Here’s a quick review of the Mactracker app and how it works.
To get started, launch the AppStore on your Mac computer by navigating the path Finder > Applications > AppStore; or by clicking the Apple logo in the upper left side of the screen and selecting AppStore from the context menu.
With AppStore open and active on screen, type the following search term into the AppStore search box: mactracker; and hit enter to perform the search. The AppStore may return several results, but we are simply looking for the app titled Mactracker. Click FREE > INSTALL APP to begin installation of the Mactracker app.
Upon doing so, you may be prompted to sign in to your Apple account. If so, simply enter your Apple ID and password and click the Sign In button.
Upon successful sign in, the Mactracker app should immediately begin downloading.
Once Mactracker finishes installing, you can launch the application using the path Finder > Applications > Mactracker, or directly from Launchpad. The Mactracker app is a reference app, designed to be a simple way to find information about any Mac.
