If you want free cloud (online) storage, but don’t want to pay an arm and a leg for it, Dropbox may be for you. Dropbox is a free cloud storage option. In this tutorial we will be showing you how to set up Dropbox with your Mac. Before we start this tutorial, go to the Dropbox website and register for an account.
Setting Up Dropbox On Mac OSX
1. Once you have registered for a free DropBox account, head over to the DropBox website. When the website has completely loaded, look towards the center of the window. You will see a button that says “Download Dropbox”. Click on this and the Dropbox application will be downloaded to your computer.

2. Once Dropbox has completely downloaded, drag the Dropbox application to your Applications folder.

3. Once Dropbox is in your Applications folder, open it. You can do this by searching for it in Spotlight or by launching it from your dock.

4. When you first open Dropbox, you will be greeted with a setup window. Configure these options to your liking.

Transferring Files To Drop Box
1. Look at the Apple toolbar. You will notice a new icon, this is the Dropbox icon. Please click on this. When you do, click on “Open Dropbox Folder”.

2. When you click on this, your Dropbox folder will open. From here you can simply drag and drop files into your Dropbox folder. You will now be able to view these files on any computer in the world.
