iPhone App Review: Lose It!

Lose It! is a great iPhone application that assists with and monitors your weight loss program. The application is a free download from the iPhone/iPod Touch App Store. Lose It! has an excellent user interface design in addition to useful features like the setting of goals, tracking your total food intake and the exercise that you do.

The main task that Lose It! does for you is it takes the burden of counting calories away from you. All you need to do is to configure it with the amount of calories you need every day. That is then set as your daily Budget. As you can see in the image below once you set a budget you need to keep adding items you consume or if you do any kind of exercise. Lose It! will add or subtract that many calories from your budget and let you know how many more calories you can consume on that day staying within your budget.

It’s quite amazing the extent to which the developers of this application have gone to make it useful. They have pre-programmed in a whole bunch of food items and their fat, carb and calorie levels. This makes it rather simple to get started with Lose It! and make it work for you.

After a few days of monitoring your food intake and your workouts you want to know how you are faring. Lose It! has these really neat graphs showing you how much weight you have lost so far and how far you are from your goal.

Over all Lose It! is an amazing application and considering the price is zero I would highly recommend it to everyone. Even if you are one of those people who have given up the battle of the bulge this might be the inspiration you were looking for.
