iPhone App Review: Lexic
May 4, 2009 by Sukrit Dhandhania
Lexic is a set of three games for the iPhone. The three games bundled together are Lexic Cascade, Lexic Blackout, and Lexic Stasis. With entertainment value and a great design this iPhone/iPod Touch application costs $2.99 on the App Store. You can get the application’s from this App Store link.
Lexic Cascade
Lexic Cascade is a game where you trace words in a block of letters. You have a fixed amount of in which you can trace words. The really neat feature in this game is that as you find words the letters used to form that word disappear creating room for a new set of letters. This adds an element of surprise in the game, which is really neat. The game is pretty simple and straightforward, yet it can keep you entertained for hours on end.
Lexic Blackout
Lexic Blackout is game that’s quite similar to Lexic Cascade. It’s also a word game, and it has also been designed quite well. The main difference between the two is that in Blackout as you create words the tiles are just blacked out and disappear. Unlike the implementation in Cascade, the tile does not make room for a new tile with a new letter. Your goal is to create as many points as you can and then move to the next level of the game.
Lexic Stasis
Lexic Stasis is again pretty similar to the first two games, and it also comes with its own twist. Like the other two games Lexic Stasis is also a word search game. The twist here is that as you find words the letter tiles neither disappear, nor do they transform into another letter. They just remain as is and you can reuse them as often as you like. Your aim here is to create as many words as possible with all the letters provided to you.
I hope I managed to convince you to try out the three games bundled into Lexic. Feel free to leave a comment with your opinion of these games should you choose to buy them, or if you already have them.
