OpenOffice has released version 3 of its open-source Office Suite, which now includes a native version for OS X.

OpenOffice.org is free for use by everybody. You can install it on as many computers as you like, and use it for any purpose you like (including commercial, government, public administration and educational).

The OpenOffice site is under pretty heavy strain at the time of this writing, so aside from a few download links, there isn’t a lot of available info on the specifics of the update.

Mac System Requirements:

- MacOSX 10.4 (Tiger) or higher
- Intel processor
- 512 MB RAM
- 500 MB available hard disk space
- 1024 x 768 graphic device with 256 colors (higher resolution recommended)
- Chinese, Japanese and Korean versions: 600 MB (multi-language version: 800 MB) available hard disk space)
